It's great for sensory deprivation, with three thick lockable leather straps that tighten across the hood: across the eyes, over the head/under the chin, and around the neck. Those straps hold the inside padding tight against the head to block sight and sound while protecting against incoming blows over the ears, eyes and mouth.
Speaking of the mouth, it comes with a breathing rivet hole (which doubles as an intake for straws in case your sub needs water). There are D-rings at the front of the collar strap for safe yet immobilizing head bondage. Each buckle tongue features a hole for locking, and the back of the hood closes with nylon drawstring fed through metal grommets.
